Honoka (I accidentally kept calling her Hinano) cried at first when her mom left, but I pulled out these alphabet floor tiles. The colorful squares and Nene and Ako’s excitement quickly got her attention. They started putting them together randomly, but then I asked them if they could put them all in alphabetical order and they had a ton of fun working together to do it. I’ve always wanted to use these, but they take so much space and time to put together that I don’t often get a chance. Honoka is smart and already knows the alphabet pretty well, so I put her in charge and she loved it.
